Teaching / Learning Strategies: Activities include but are not limited to:
- Projects (Links to an external site.)
- Advice on getting and keeping a job COURSE NOTES• As in all course online activities this quarter, it is important you read each assignment carefully; assignment success will be directly related to closely following instructions.
• Submitted items for grading must be named correctly (as per instructions) and submitted to the correct folder by the deadline to receive full credit. Items incorrectly named with not be accepted.
• Late work will receive 50% credit, maximum. Late work will be accepted for one week; after one week, late work will not be accepted, without prior faculty approval (contact me if you have an issue).
• Read and follow all step-by-step instructions carefully; do not skip steps or take “shortcuts”. Work will not be accepted that deviates from instructions.
• If you have questions, first, try to problem solve by working your way backwards through the assignment instructions. Review the associated videos and tutorials. If you are unable to find a solution. Please do not call my office phone, as your faculty are working from home. Contact me via Canvas messaging.
• Be kind to yourselves; if you don’t get the assignment the first time, start over. You are living through a remarkable history, which is stressful. Remember, this is temporary. Give yourself some leeway to make mistakes, and try again.
Attendance Policy:
Attendance is crucial to your progress and will be taken at the beginning of Zoom meetings.
The attendance policy is as follows:More than 6 absences = 0.0
Two late attendances = one absence.
Participation in the SFCC Graphic Design Portfolio Show is REQUIRED to receive a final
passing grade.Make-up Policy:
For an absence to be excused a student will need to communicate to their instructor via email prior to an absence.
Students need to complete any work missed by the next class period, or by instructor arrangement.
If the above criteria are not met the absence will be applied to the attendance policy.
Grading / Evaluation Policy:
The instructor will supply a scoring rubric to set “a standard of performance” to communicate the expectations of quality around specific exercises or projects. In order to receive a grade for the course, all projects and exercises must be completed and received on the server by the end of the quarter.
